American Resort Management operates the park, as well as having designed it. The park has a capacity of 1500 guests as big as it is, people are already waiting in line during holiday periods to get in, according to the American Resort Management vice president Rick Coleman, who notes “It has been received even better than our wildest dreams allowed us to imagine.” The park booked over a thousand birthday events in its first 90 days of operation, with another thousand on the books as of last month. And E Racers provides the opportunity for guests to reach head-first in the water.

The Swimming Hole family activity pool features basketball hoops the FlowRider surf simulator allows both experienced and first time surfers to catch a ride. In the wave pool, which features 10,000-square-feet of water, guests can swim, or bask along a beach along the lazy river. The youngest visitors may not be experiencing any of the slide complex experience, but instead have their own activity structure with a 300-gallon tipping bucket and child-sized slides.įamily activities include what the park promotes as “the longest indoor lazy river in the state of Texas.” Every half hour, wave generation is turned on for ten minutes at a time pumping three foot waves through the river.

Multiple slides are positioned to emerge from one large-scale slide complex within Epic Waters, some offering gentler slide experiences while others like Lassoo Loop are thrill rides. It is billed as the world's tallest indoor aqua loop. Guests will find a thrilling 7-foot-drop on the Lassoo Loop body-slide as well as a 45-degree loop feature. There are six in all, which include the Aquanaut, Prairie Plunge, Texas Twist, Lassoo Loop, E Racers and the Yellowjacket Drop. One of the key attractions are the wide range of water slides, supplied by speciality manufacturer Whitewater. Instead, it's a stand-alone complex owned by the city of Grand Prairie that includes a large amphitheater welcoming regional and national perfroming artists, and the 10-acre PlayGrand Adventures with its outdoor playground for kids of all abilities and ages. Operated by American Resort Management, the facility, which calls itself “a cruise ship on land,” does not include a hotel room complex which is a staple of most waterpark attractions. Even its waterslide features are large: they represent the largest municipal collection of slides in North America. Epic Waters is Texas-sized, with a large retractable roof, an 80,000-square-foot glass enclosure, and a 650-foot lazy river. Known for big steaks, big open prairies, and big highways, Grand Prairie, Texas now has a big indoor water park.
